2018Charles Harris with The Breaking of Liam Glass

Saturday May 5th – 4pm – Newcastle

Crime and Humour at Newcastle Noir.

Surely one of the trickiest literary feats is combining crime, particularly murder, with humour. Murderer James French was attributed with famous last words prior to his death by electric chair ‘How’s this for a headline? French Fries’.

Antti Tuomainen is one of Finland’s most successful writers. To date, his work has been translated into more than 25 languages. His latest work The Man Who Died combines trademark suspense with darkly tinged humour.

Charles Harris released his debut social noir thriller The Breaking of Liam Glass last year and it went straight to no 1 in Amazon’s Hot New Releases for Satire. Not so much whodunnit, as ‘What they did after it…’.

Luca Veste has written four books in the bestselling series featuring DI David Murphy and DS Laura Rossi investigating crime in Liverpool. His new standalone novel is The Bone Keeper, described as ‘tense, chilling and hugely scary!’
